1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Golden Strip Unite ("the Platform," "we," "us," or "our") at goldenstripunite.org, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.

2. What We Are — and What We Are Not

Golden Strip Unite is a community matching facilitator. We connect volunteers with organizations and individuals in need. We are not:

• A staffing agency or employment service
• A licensed healthcare, social services, or case management provider
• A background check service or safety guarantor
• A party to any volunteer-organization agreement or arrangement

All volunteer activities are voluntary. Golden Strip Unite does not supervise, direct, or control any volunteer's actions. Organizations are solely responsible for their own screening, training, and management of volunteers they accept.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or submit forms on the Platform. Minors may participate only through a parent, legal guardian, school, or approved organizational program. By using the Platform, you represent that you are at least 18 years old or have obtained appropriate parental or guardian consent.

4. Accounts and Registration

During our invite-only beta, account creation is limited to approved users. You agree to:

• Provide accurate and truthful information in your profile and all submissions
• Keep your account credentials confidential
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
• Use the Platform only for its intended community service purposes

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate any account that violates these terms, engages in fraudulent activity, or poses a risk to community members.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Platform to:

• Harass, deceive, or harm any person
• Solicit money, goods, or services outside the Platform's intended purpose
• Collect or store personal information about other users without consent
• Post false, misleading, or fraudulent information
• Violate any applicable law or regulation
• Circumvent our admin review processes

6. Contact Information and Privacy

Personal contact details (phone numbers, email addresses, home addresses) are never publicly displayed on the Platform. They are only released to matched parties after explicit admin approval. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

7. Safety and Liability

Golden Strip Unite facilitates introductions between volunteers and organizations. We do not guarantee the safety, competence, reliability, or conduct of any volunteer or organization listed on the Platform. You use the Platform and participate in volunteer activities at your own risk.

Organizations are responsible for conducting any screening, training, or background checks appropriate for their volunteer roles, especially those involving vulnerable populations.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Golden Strip Unite disclaims all liability for any harm, injury, loss, or damage arising from volunteer activities or connections made through the Platform. See our Legal Disclaimer for additional terms.

8. Intellectual Property

All content on this Platform — including text, graphics, logos, and page designs — is the property of Golden Strip Unite. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without written permission.

9. Donations and Payments

Donations and sponsorship payments are processed through Stripe. Golden Strip Unite does not store your payment card information. All payments are subject to Stripe's terms. Donations are generally non-refundable; contact us if you believe an error occurred.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Platform at any time, with or without notice, for any reason including violation of these Terms. You may stop using the Platform at any time. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will remain in effect.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. Material changes will be posted here with an updated date. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of South Carolina, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Greenville County, South Carolina.
